Welcome to the International Technology Education Association!
I am sure that you will find this Association, and this website,
a wonderful resource for promoting technological literacy.
Our goal is to support classroom teachers and other professionals
all over the world with the resources they need to enhance
children's understanding and capability with technology.
Toward this end, the ITEA has undertaken many exciting initiatives.
Please take a few moments to peruse this web site and familiarize yourself
with the many different kinds of resources and professional development
available to enhance teaching and learning technology. For example,
the IdeaGarden is a wonderful resource for teachers to discuss issues
and share ideas. HITS and KITS are great publications to stimulate classroom
explorations and experiences with technology.
ICON and I3 are among the current funded projects that will yield exciting
resources. The Standards for Technological Literacy is an absolute "must
have" for every technology professional! And this is just the beginning!
There are also many professional development opportunities available
through CATTS (Center to Advance Teaching Technology and Science). Finally, make plans now to attend the ITEA 65th Annual Conference in
Nashville, TN, March 13-15, 2003. We'll see you there!
The Board of Directors and headquarters staff are here to serve your
needs. If there is ever anything that we can do to improve teaching
and learning about technology, please don't hesitate to contact us directly. |
